Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage
A style of massage that incorporates gentle gliding and kneading strokes in order to calm the body and relax the mind. Benefits include an increase in circulation, lowering blood pressure, muscle tension relief, and mental de-stressing.
Using a combination of firmer and more targeted techniques to access deeper layers of muscle tissue, this work focuses on relief of chronic pain, stress, or loss of motion. Light stretches and movement exercises are also incorporated to encourage muscle mobility.
Traditional Thai Massage
An ancient and dynamic form of bodywork, Thai massage combines rhythmic pressure, passive stretches, and coordinated breathing in order to balance the body’s systems. Thai medicine is influenced by Ayurvedic teachings of India and the study of Chinese energy meridians. This work focuses on aligning and clearing these channels for prana to flow freely, and bring harmony and relaxation to the receiver’s mind and body.
Thai massage is traditionally performed fully clothed on a floor mat but can also be translated to a table session.
Prenatal
A nurturing and supportive session for both new Mommies and child. Focuses on relief of joint pain and helps maintain alignment and comfort during Mom’s transitioning body.
